Let users make Following their default feed

Let people choose Following, Favorites, or Home as their persistent default feed and remember that choice across sessions and devices. Instagram already offers Following and Favorites views, so the missing capability is not the feed itself: reopening the app returns users to a different default experience. Instagram's launch post described the alternative feeds, while a February 2026 report described an in-progress customizable-feed redesign rather than a verified generally available persistent default. The desired outcome is durable control over feed order and source.
